X-rays and OPG
Some problems hide under the gum or under a filling, where the eye simply cannot see them. A scan finds them before they start to hurt.
An intraoral X-ray shows one tooth and its root in detail. We use it to spot decay between teeth and to guide root canal treatment.
A panoramic OPG scan captures the whole mouth, both jaws and the wisdom teeth in one go. It is the starting point for planning extractions, implants and larger crown and bridge work.
How it works
- Choosing the scan: Depending on the problem, we pick an intraoral or a panoramic scan.
- Taking the scan: It takes only moments and does not hurt.
- Going through it: We look at the scan together and explain what it shows.
- Treatment plan: Based on what we find, we set the order of treatment.
Common questions about this service
- Do I have to go somewhere else for a scan?
- No. We take both X-rays and panoramic OPG scans here, so diagnosis and treatment happen in one place.
- How often can scans be taken?
- We only take a scan when it helps the treatment. The radiation dose from dental scans is low.
