Dental hygiene
A toothbrush cannot remove tartar. It builds up under the gum, irritates it and slowly loosens the tooth in its socket. Hygiene prevents that, and it is the cheapest thing you can do for your teeth.
We remove tartar and plaque with ultrasound, which breaks it up without harming the enamel. Then comes AIR Flow air polishing, which lifts stains from coffee, tea and cigarettes.
At the end we polish the teeth and apply fluoride to strengthen the enamel. We also show you which spots you are missing at home, so you lose as little ground as possible between visits.
How it works
- Gum check: We find where the inflammation is and how deep the tartar goes.
- Ultrasonic cleaning: We remove tartar above and below the gum line.
- AIR Flow polishing: We take off stains and plaque.
- Polishing and fluoride: We seal the enamel surface so plaque settles less easily.
Common questions about this service
- How often should I come for hygiene?
- Twice a year is enough for most patients. If you build up tartar quickly or your gums get inflamed, we will suggest coming more often.
- Does it hurt?
- With healthy gums it is uncomfortable rather than painful. If your gums are inflamed and sensitive, we can numb the area.
