Dental implants
An implant is the only replacement that also replaces the root of the tooth. The healthy teeth next to the gap stay untouched, and the bone where the tooth used to be keeps being used.
We place a titanium screw into the bone, and over a few months it fuses with it. We then fit a crown on top that looks and works like your own tooth.
We work with the Bredent and Straumann systems. Before the procedure we always take a scan to check how much bone there is and what condition it is in, and we go through a realistic timeline and the total price.
How it works
- Assessing the bone: The scan shows us whether there is enough bone.
- Placing the implant: We set the titanium screw into the bone with the area numbed.
- Healing: The implant fuses with the bone while you come in for check-ups.
- The crown: We fit a crown matched to the shade of your own teeth.
Common questions about this service
- How long does the whole thing take?
- Usually several months from placing the implant to fitting the crown. The exact time depends on how the bone heals.
- What is the difference between the Bredent and Straumann systems?
- They are two manufacturers with different prices and different ranges. We recommend a system based on the state of your bone and the size of the replacement.
